Almond Joy Candybar- Raw Food Recipe
It always helps to have a really easy dessert recipe on hand. This candybar recipe can be made days ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator or it can be frozen. I have always been a fan of the candy bar Almond Joy because of the chocolate and coconut, but never buy it because it is so unhealthy. This raw version has only four ingredients and really satisfies your sweet tooth!! You can enjoy the bars right after you make them and eat them with a spoon or chill them for at least an hour in the refrigerator or freezer for bars you can hold.
Recipe will make 4 mini Candybars
4 T Almond butter
2 T Cacao Powder
2 T Agave or Liquid Sweetner of Choice
1/2 c Coconut, shredded and unsweetned
Step 1- In a bowl mix together almond butter, cacao and agave until well blended
Step 2- Put coconut in a bowl
Step 3- In batches, drop 1 tablespoon of almond mixture into coconut and coat on both sides
Step 4- Put bars on a plate and shape into small rectangles
Step 5- Refrigerate until firm enough to pick up (about an hour)
